Objectives

VALLEY aims to enhance the learning dimension of volunteering work through the development of a new approach to promote volunteering among young people as a resource of personal empowerment. The competences developed during the volunteering work will be validated  by means of an innovative validation approach – the LEVEL5 system.

The project will maximise the transferability of this learning to other dimensions of people’s life to help understand the global benefits of volunteering in terms of social integration and (re)engagement, civic participation, mobility opportunities, etc. The project activities will involve both young people who are already involved in volunteering activities and young people who have never experienced volunteering (specific focus on NEETs  – not in education, employment or training – and young people with migration background).

Hence, the project aims:

  • to provide a new approach to promote volunteering among young people as a resource of personal empowerment;
  • to validate the competences developed mainly by youngsters during their volunteering experience;
  • to help young people understand the global benefits of volunteering in their life in terms of social integration and (re)engagement, civic participation, mobility opportunities, discovery of hidden talents etc.
